$75,000 bond set for Dumas woman accused of shooting her uncle

On Sunday, April 28th at 6:29 p.m. Desha County Central Dispatch received a call that a male subject had been shot at a residence on State Highway 54 near Dumas. Dumas Police Officers were initially dispatched to the scene, when it was determined the residence was just outside city limits, Desha County Deputies responded.

Upon arrival Officers discovered that a black male had suffered a gun shot wound to the leg. He was identified as 67-year-old Melvin Smith.

He identified the shooter as being his niece, 35-year-old Audelia Tazzy Clark, who goes by the nickname “Lucy.” Smith stated Clark fled the scene, and she was believed to be traveling to Louisiana.

On Monday morning, April 29th, after obtaining a warrant for Clark’s arrest, Deputy Alan Hernandez took Clark into custody at the Chateau Desha Apartment Complex in Dumas.

Clark was booked into jail for 1st Degree Domestic Battery, Possession of Firearms by Certain Persons, and Terroristic Act.

At her first judicial appearance Clark’s bond was set at $75,000.
